Fake Chuck Taylors (Ball Star Classics)

Dust Mite's "Hooping Shoes"
In 1917, Marquis M. Converse release an iconic basketball sneaker call “All Star Chuck Taylors". In 2001, a random Chinese company released these. You know, I wonder what Marquis would say about this... Or for that matter, the high school basketball player the shoes were named after: Chuck Taylor. (By the way, who is Monica Sun???)

This shoe was actually spotted at the local flea markets in Donguan, China where these along with hundreds of other fake goods can be found. Trust and believe, Converse isn’t by far the only company that is being counterfeited. Companies like Nike, Coach, Rolex, and even Cola Coca have had to deal with the Nightmare of Foreign and Domestic Counterfeits.

Like most foreign countries, China does little to stop the counterfeiters because under Chinese law, one cannot be prosecuted if one sells a “Small Quantity” of fake products. Authorities defend this law claiming that disrupting such activity will cause Social Unrest”, and that counterfeiters keep a lot of low income people employed. Basically, American firms may not like it, but they have to live with it.

Back to the “Ball Stars”, aside from the incorrect names, this is actually a really good fake; It is almost completely indistinguishable from the real thing if worn in public because people don’t usually look too closely at your shoes (or I at least I don’t) Would I wear them? HECK NO!!! But to cut the grass in them, maybe.

Authentic Brand New All Star Chuck Taylors usually Retail for about 40-45 dollars respectively. You can buy these things for about 132 Yuan (or 20 US dollars), but is it really worth the money? There is a reason why these things are so cheap. They are made with cheaper materials and in the long run I’d bet my last dollar these things won’t last as long as the authentic product. Notice I call these things and not shoes because I think is ANNOYING how there is always somebody stealing another person’s idea!!!
